Starting Tuesday 25th October
Advanced Screenwriting Programme
An advanced programme for those who already have some experience in screenwriting or have already studied screenwriting. The programme involves workshopping scenes and early pages, so it is best geared to those who have ideas for projects, feature films, television dramas or comedies.
Tues & Thurs, 7pm until 10pm
€320 Members / €345 Non-Members
The first two weeks will involve an overview of structure, how to create and sustain maximum audience involvement. The following week will look at characters, how to define them and how to give them integrity. The remaining seven weeks focus on specific scene-writing skills and participants share their works-in-progress for detailed feedback.
Material covered will include:
• The shapes of stories
• The elements of narratives
• Revealing and withholding information
• The Lubitsch Touch
• Non-linear narratives
• Visual story-telling
• Writing and re-writing key scenes
• Making the interior life exterior
This course involves 6 hours of instruction a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays 19:00-22:00. Attendance at every class, while ideal is not mandatory.
