Screenwriting Intensive
Aimed at writers working towards a first or second draft of a feature film or television pilot. This class meets twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays for three hours over April and May.

The first two weeks will include an overview of The Sequence Approach, writers will be asked to produce an outline for their project using The Sequence Approach for guidance.
In the subsequent weeks there will be guided feedback on works-in-progress as well as more lectures and analysis.
Writers will also be given the opportunity to write a short film. The script will be then edited and polished, which may be filmed by the directors and actors at the Filmbase Academy. This is not a requirement but is an opportunity to write a short which has a path to production.
Tutors: Mary Kate O Flanagan
Mary Kate works as a script consultant with writers and producers in Ireland and internationally. She trained in teaching screenwriting with David Howard, author of The Tools of Screenwriting and How to Build a Great Screenplay and Martin Daniel Professor of Screenwriting at USC, among others. She has been an expert speaker on storytelling for the screen in Germany, Poland, Romania, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Botswana, South Africa, The UK, The US, Slovenia. In her native Ireland, she has been a guest lecturer at NUI Galway and the National Film School and Screen Training Ireland. She has an MA in Screenwriting and is A Champion Storyteller at The Moth.
